Full Timeline of the Alleged Sexual Assault by a Resident Doctor at RSHS Bandung

Over the past few days, social media has been buzzing with a heartbreaking story from Hasan Sadikin Hospital (RSHS) in Bandung. The case involves a young woman and a resident doctor, and it has sparked widespread concern and outrage. After following the news from several sources, I felt compelled to write this post—not to stir more drama, but to shed light on the importance of safety and ethics in the medical world.

🏥 The Incident on the 7th Floor

The incident reportedly took place in mid-March 2025. The victim, a 21-year-old woman, was staying at the hospital to care for her father who was being treated in the ICU. The suspect, PAP, a 31-year-old male resident doctor from the anesthesiology program at Padjadjaran University (Unpad), offered to help with a blood type matching process, since her father needed a transfusion.

What seemed like a kind gesture quickly turned into a nightmare.

The victim was taken to the 7th floor of the MCHC building, which was empty at the time. There, she was asked to change into a hospital gown, had an IV inserted, and was allegedly injected with a sedative (midazolam) that made her lose consciousness. It was during this time that the sexual assault is believed to have occurred.

⚖️ Legal Actions & Institutional Response

Thankfully, this case didn’t go unnoticed. Just five days after the incident, on March 23, 2025, the suspect was arrested in an apartment in Bandung—a swift move that deserves credit.

Padjadjaran University responded by revoking his student status and handing the case over to the police. RSHS also released a statement clarifying that the perpetrator was not one of their employees but a participant in a clinical education program, and had been returned to his university.

📲 Going Viral on Social Media

The story gained major traction online after the Instagram account @ppdsgramm shared a detailed account of what happened. The post went viral, prompting a flood of responses from netizens expressing shock, anger, and disappointment. Many are now calling for a serious reevaluation of how medical education and supervision for resident doctors are handled.

💭 Reflections: What Can We Learn?

To be honest, reading this story is deeply disturbing. We’re taught to believe that hospitals are safe spaces—especially for patients and their families. But this case reminds us that strict oversight and ethical standards are non-negotiable in medical environments.

Of course, this doesn't mean all doctors are like this—not at all. But one horrific case like this is enough to shake public trust. Hopefully, this becomes a moment of reflection not just for the institutions involved, but for the medical field as a whole.

📝 Final Thoughts

My heart goes out to the victim and her family. I truly hope justice is served, and that medical education systems implement stronger measures—not only to assess academic performance, but also to nurture empathy and moral responsibility in future doctors.
