🌟 What It’s Really Like Working in the Sales & Events Team at a 5-Star Resort

If you’ve ever stayed at a luxury hotel and thought, “Wow, this place runs like magic,” you’re not entirely wrong. But behind every magical moment—whether it’s a perfectly timed sunset dinner or a dreamy beachfront wedding—there’s a hardworking team making it happen. And guess what? I’m part of that team.

Hi, I’m Hope—currently working in the Sales & Events Department at Hilton Bali Resort. Let me take you behind the scenes of what it’s really like working at a five-star resort, where hospitality meets hustle every single day.

🌺 It’s More Than Just Selling Rooms

When people hear “sales,” they often think it’s just about convincing guests to book a room. But in reality, it’s way more than that. We’re in charge of building relationships—with guests, with event organizers, with partners. Whether it’s a couple planning their wedding or a corporate team organizing a retreat, we make sure everything goes smoothly from the first email to the final farewell.

And yes, sometimes we even help put out fires (not literally, thank goodness)—like last-minute changes, unexpected weather, or that one VIP guest with very specific requests.

✨ Events That Feel Like Fairytales (But Take Serious Work)

From tropical weddings to international conferences, we get to help create memories that last a lifetime. Sounds glamorous? It is—but it also means 12-hour days, tight schedules, and coordinating with dozens of departments (banquet, housekeeping, AV, you name it!).

Every successful event is a team victory—and trust me, seeing a bride tear up at her perfect setup or a guest say “This was the best retreat ever” makes it all worth it.

🧠 What I’ve Learned So Far

Working in hospitality teaches you more than you’d expect:

  • Patience. Not everything will go as planned. And that’s okay.

  • Empathy. You learn to understand people’s needs—even the unspoken ones.

  • Problem-solving. Fast thinking becomes second nature. Especially when Plan A, B, and C all fail.

Plus, working in a multicultural environment like Hilton Bali means every day is a new lesson—from language, culture, to professional etiquette.

💬 Final Thoughts

Being part of a Sales & Events team at a 5-star resort isn’t always easy. But it’s deeply rewarding. You become part of moments that matter in people’s lives. And in the process, you grow—professionally and personally.

So, next time you’re attending an event or staying at a resort, just know—there’s a whole squad behind the scenes working hard to make it look effortless. And I’m proud to be one of them.
